Biography

Naveen Swami, MCh is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery. He received his MBBS from Sardar Patel Medical College in Bikaner, India, in 2000, and MS in General Surgery from Swai Man Singh Medical College in India in 2004. Dr. Swami then earned an MCh (Master of Surgery) in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India in 2008. Concurrent with his academic degrees, he completed internships and residencies in general, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery at teaching hospitals and medical colleges in Bikaner, Jaipur, New Delhi and Gurgaon, India.

In July 2008 Dr. Swami accepted a position as an associate consultant in cardiovascular surgery at the Artemis Health Institute in Gurgaon. He remained there until October 2009, when he accepted a position as a specialist in cardiothoracic surgery the Al-Ahli Hospital, a private cardiac center in Doha, Qatar. Dr. Swami worked at Al-Ahli Hospital through June 2013, when he returned to India and joined The Medicity in Gurgaon, the busiest cardiac center in north India. In October 2014, Dr. Swami joined UCSF as a fellow in Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery. He now joins the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Surgery.
